Carolean Crescent

Property: 1 bed new-build apartment / Location: SE London

Filled with plants and an eclectic mix of quirky accessories and graphical art, picked up on my travels, this one-of-a-kind living room is striking yet homely and brimming with personality.

The crisply painted black and white stripes work to elongate the space, connecting the kitchen to the lounge area and drawing the eye to the floor-to-ceiling windows at the far end of the room. The warm, wooden herringbone floor brings a richness to the design, allowing the contrasting monochrome elements and bold accent colours to really sing.

Working to a tight budget, I focused on upcycling some of my existing furniture, such as the arc lamp, red TV cabinet and the recently completed orange arched cabinet (originally 4x Ikea Ivar cupboards). These projects all combined second-hand furniture with a little creative flair to add some high-end flavour at a fraction of the cost of buying brand new.

My not-so-little collection of houseplants is mainly housed in samples of the planters I sell here on my site or in one-off creations that didn't quite make it to my shop.
